Biff and The Biffbots

Jan 29th

Well I was very late logging on because I had been away for the weekend so had to sit out and wait until there was an opening, Guild killed Performer for the first time tonight so thats us now #5 serverwide :) Shame I missed the actual kill but i was there in spirit outside so at least I got the DKP bonus. Joined the raid in time to do Tris Wallow III and Devlin which went smoothly. We then had our first chance to go see the Master himself but the trash mobs otw made short work of us, still I think there is a great chance for us to finish this expansion before the next one comes out in a month.

Late again so missed raid start however as it was Anguish didnt have any problem getting a spot in the raid. Was able to get Eboola a nice upgrade to her neck though I did get told that I couldnt spend any more on Eboola for a while since the guild expected their clerics to be well equipped. Considering that I am one of the top 10 clerics on the server and in the top 100 in the game I don't think was really justified

Logged on late again but guild hadnt done much when I did get on. We ended up trying Performer a few times and this time the zone didnt crash on us. We are getting close, we got to wave 14 today, so I think a victory will be ours soon.

My trader has been doing some brisk business and I moved the funds across from Turo to him. Have 150k on my trader now and over 100k on Biff so the money starting to build up.

Logged on late so just in time to try Zit and then Performer. The zone crashed on us again so we called it a night. With it only being 10 I decided to help Stine get her Dwarf Illusion mask so along with Eboola and Luxx we headed to ST to kill the ancients. Really must get Bruvver his ST key and park him down in ST cause some of the stuff thats dropping is fairly decent for a twink, also I should get Bruvver some levels poor guy is such a noob. I get a cleric to come along one day to PoF :)

Bit delayed getting home so missed the first hour. Logged on in time to do Tris Wallow and part of Devlin before I had to log again for Dinner with my flatmate. Logged back on in time for us to do Performer which was going really well until the zone crashed. There is a real sense of frustration atm what with Devlin warps, lag and zone crashes. Raids were cancelled as it was getting late so chatted with a few friends and logged after getting more emeralds out of the bank.

First time I have logged on in a week since vowing to myself to get my playing under control. Have spent the last week doing some extra work in the evenings for a new client I have in the UK and actually got a lot done so have pretty much got that started at last. On the 19th I went to Sweden and spent 4 glorious days with my wife, even managed to get to do some skiing which was great fun.

Only played for a bit tonight because I was invited to dinner. We did Vishimatar and for once there was room for Eboola in raid. Of course on one of the few occassions I was able to get Eboola into the raid a DragonKiller didn't drop. Still its just a question of time :) Logged after Vish and had dinner, when I came back on a couple of hours later the raid was full so rather than waste my evening sitting around waiting for a spot I logged and had an early night.

My trader was rolled back because of rhe mess that was made of rhe patch, bah, still he is making steady money still

There is something wrong when a game consumes so much of your time that you have room for little else, even your family. Of course I have known this for sometime and each time this game has caused conflict I have shied away from the truth and like some addict make promises that I in all honestly mean to keep but more frequently end up breaking. If working as I do away from home isnt bad enough I compound the problems this causes by playing a game that requires so much of my time that I am unable to give my wife to talk to me without being distracted and needing to rush back because im raiding.

Quite frankly its pathetic.

Tide is a one hell of a guild and for it to progress it needs to work on encounters that require players to be at their seats from 6pm until 11pm 6 days a week. How many games are there out there that demand this degree of dedication to suceed? Of course it could be argued that if I want to play this game at its highest level then this is required, so I have to ask myself if this is what I really should be doing. In fact the more I ask myself this question the more I realise I know the answer but just dont want to admit to myself that my days in a raiding guild are effectively over.

Last night we did Roley and worked on The Performer however I logged an hour earlier disgusted with myself for having upset my wife earlier in the evening when I hurried her off the phone.

Jan 15th

Logged on fairly late as I slept in after having stayed up so late the previous night at the dinner party.

Made an effort to do MPG trials and was able to get a good group together. Sezas, Gamolron, Nags, and Singervinger along with me botting Biff and Eboo. Managed to get 2 trials down, Weaponry and Ingenuity, but shame all the loots rotted as nothing was upgrades for anybody. 2 more to go which hopefully I will get a chance to do something during the week or maybe next weekend.

Dreadspire tonight was awesome and quite a good morale booster to realise that it can be so easy to clear. We did Zit, Redfang, Sisters and Hatchet (though had a bit of a false start on Hatchet and needed to start again) in about 3.5 hours. We then did Tris and Devlin making a total of 6 big kills in the one evening. With the fact that we lost about 20 minutes to the Hatchet restart and another 20 minutes to a CoH that went a bit wrong we could probably do Performer once we have figured it out. Not unreasonable to expect a single night to clear (especially if it remains a Sunday).

After raids Aelith organised a blocker run so I was able to go along and get my Hatchet blocker handed in so thats now me 4/4 and Dot free

Only time to quickly help Oriflame and Sezas get the catacombs signet for Oriflame's paladin. Having gone on my 7 hour bike ride and a dinner party arranged for tonight no time to do anything else

Nothing unlucky about this Friday 13th. Quick kill of Yarl for his eye followed by Vishimatar which for the first time in months went pear shaped. Quick CR and we were back at it again and the second attempt was flawless. A Dragonkiller dropped but as Eboola had to drop from the raid because of numbers I wasn't able to get it for her, not that that was going to be an option as Swordweaver bought it anyway :) I put a bid in for the eye but was outbid so not yet, the prices are slowly dropping though and it went for less than 50.

Anguish was a blast and we cleared it including OMM. I bought myself a new wrist to replace my last piece of Qvic armour I was wearing, was a nice upgrade adding another 90 mana to my pool. AMV and OMM both dropped BP's, in fact OMM dropped 2, and though I put in bids they are still too rich for me, however the prices are slowly dropping so I should be able to get one relatively soon as my BP is now one of my weakest slots. I also have room for 2 or 3 good augs so plenty to upgrade still.
